Description
Camel Donga is a monomict eucrite meteorite found for the first time in 1984 on the Nullarbor Plain, Western Australia. In 1985 other masses were found and some more pieces have been recovered ever since. Total known weight is just 25 kg. Camel Donga is an amazingly fresh meteorite with glossy fusion crust, typical in the HED group.
Flow lines and shinny crust are typical, along with occasionally some fine orange caliche from the Australian desert. On average, Camel Donga meteorites are very small, most of them being below 10 grams.
