Lunar meteorites

Lunar meteorites result from another meteorite hitting the Moon, causing it to release its rocks at escape velocity into space and later falling on Earth. Although the Moon is our nearest celestial body, lunar meteorites are extremely rare due to the chain of events necessary for them to find their way to Earth. Only 0.6% of all known meteorites are lunar. Now, however, you can have a piece of the Moon in your hands. Learn more
