Daraj 001 is classified as an H5 chondrite meteorite. All specimens were found in Libya, in Hammadah al Hamra, a vast flat desert territory.
Daraj 001 is the 4th ever meteorite from Libya, being discovered in 1986. Before that, Libya only had 3 classified meteorites. In successive years, other finds were made, increasing the total mass of this meteorite up to 20 kg.
