Chelyabinsk is one of the most famous meteorites due to the variety of recordings of the fall available. It is estimated than thousands of people were injured due to the shock wave that broke many windows and roofs of houses and factories in the city of Chelyabinsk, Russia, on February 15th, 2013 at 09:20 local time.

Chelyabinsk meteorites are indispensable in every collection. They have a characteristic black and smooth fusion crust and white interior. Chelyabinsk is classified as an LL5 chondrite. Sizes of specimens vary but most common weighs are just a few grams and sometimes even less than a gram.
