Description

Pallasites are considered by many to be the most beautiful type of meteorite. They are thought to originate at the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids, where the metallic core meets the lighter rocks. They were then shattered to space through another meteorite impact until they fell on Earth.

Brenham is an anomalous pallasite first found in 1882 near Haviland, a small town between Wichita and Dodge City in Kansas. It is a meteorite associated with the Haviland Crater.

This endcut exhibits wonderful olivines, professional polishing and some minor spots of rust.

Certificate of authenticity included. IMCA 5591.
