Description

Formerly known by the provisional name of Imilchil this meteorite was classified as a IIAB iron. Iron meteorites come from the core of dead asteroids in which heavy elements sunk to the center due to gravity. Agoudal was first described in 2011 and is considered to be the one of the newest and probably most famous Moroccan iron meteorites.

The falling rock exploded forming some small craters and creating shatter cones and suevites. Thousands of little and intricate meteorites scattered around the current location of the town Agoudal, which is the highest town in Morocco at 2300 meters above sea level (7500 feet).

For sale an Agoudal meteorite slice. It was bought in a trip in December 2019 from local people.

Certificate of authenticity included. IMCA 5591.
