Description
The Agoudal meteorite is classified as an IIAB iron. It was also known by the provisional name of Imilchil. Iron meteorites come from the core of dead asteroids in which heavy elements sunk to the center due to gravity. Agoudal was first described in 2011 and is considered to be the one of the newest Moroccan iron meteorites.
The event left thousands of little and intricate meteorites scattered around the current location of the town Agoudal, which is the highest town in Morocco at 2300 meters (7500 feet) above sea level. Hunting this meteorite is specially hard due to the high altitude conditions in the strewnfield.
