Description
Atacamites are a type of tektite and impactite found in the middle of the Atacama Desert in Chile. They were ejected into the Earth’s atmosphere by a meteorite impact years ago. The steam jets cooled down and condensed to form this type of glass. A common feature of atacamites is their small size. Usually they only weigh between 0,3 and 3 grams.
